Our adventure starts with pick-up at your accommodation. We have a 2.5 hours ride to the reserve. My best recommendation is for us to start as early as 5am to avoid the city traffic and be back to the city by mid-afternoon, but if you're not an early bird we can start at 8am (getting back to the city around 6pm). We're headed to the west, towards the pacific. We will go up the west Andes mountain range and then down into jungle landscape. It will be curvy and steep at the beginning. We will also come across a formation of 12 tunnels, a display of colombian engineering.

When we get there, I will buy the brujitas service, which is the only method to enter the natural reserve (and an attraction on it's own). Back in the day, the pacific railroad trains crossed the region creating numerous little populations around. Railroad systems have long been abandoned in Colombia, as well as the train tracks by San Cipriano. However, locals have found an ingenious way to use them: wooden carts, adapted for train tracks, pushed by an attached motorbike.

After a 15-minute ride on the brujitas and a short 5 minute walk we will enter the San Cipriano Cali natural reserve. That is where we will have lunch and rent the tires for tubing. The order we do those depends on the time of day we arrive.

There's a couple of ways we can do it. We can take it easy and enjoy the river as-is, just a short walk from where the brujitas drop us off. No need for tubing.

Medium level would be to rent the tires and walk up-river to then go tubing river-down. Tubing down the river is relaxing and chill, as the river is never too strong (although there's sections when it gets bumpy and faster with the rocks). On the way, the river has curves where we can stay and enjoy swimming.

High level would be to do a 90-minute hike ($12.5 USD extra per person) to a beautiful waterfall where we can feed the local group of fish and maybe even see a turtle. The day I found the turtle literally just swimming around... amazing. I set her free right back there.

Local lunch specialty is fried fish, but there's also stewed chicken available. The local population maintains the balance of the ecosystem around them, so the fish is not fished from around but brought from the Pacific Ocean which is 30 minutes away.

A full day adventure of physical activity enjoying nature. I promise, it's a great time. Give me the pleasure to host this experience for you. Find below some video summaries of the experience:
